Table of Contents

Uploading your artwork to RedBubble is a straightforward process. To add new work, you should click on your profile picture in the upper right corner and select “Add New Work” from the drop-down menu. If the new work has similar settings to a listing you’ve created before, you can use the “Copy settings from existing work” option to streamline the process. RedBubble recommends using high-resolution JPEG, PNG, or GIF files with a minimum resolution of 1000px for uploading12.

I personally always stick with PNG. When preparing your designs, RedBubble suggests different aspect ratios to accommodate the various product types, such as portrait, landscape, and square. It’s important to design with the product in mind, as different products have different printable area requirements and aspect ratios3.

Here are some specific size recommendations for various categories:

  • Apparel: For most apparel, a PNG file of at least 2400×3200 pixels is required to cover the printable area. For example, leggings require a resolution of 4350×4032 pixels, and men’s graphic T-shirts require 3873×4814 pixels3.
  • Bags: Zipper pouches require a minimum of 4600×3000 pixels, and all-over print tote bags vary from 2175×2175 pixels to 2950×2950 pixels for different sizes3.
  • Device Cases: Phone cases and skins need a minimum of 1187×1852 pixels, while laptop skins require 4600×3000 pixels4.
  • Home Decor: A wide range of sizes is necessary, from water bottles at 3160×2180 pixels to duvet covers and comforters requiring 7632×6480 pixels3.
  • Pet Supplies: For pet-related products, the required sizes range from 3150×2400 pixels for cat mats to 7632×6480 pixels for pet blankets5.
  • Stationery: For stickers, the recommended maximum resolution is 2800×2800 pixels to ensure availability across all sizes6.
  • Wall Art: Sizes range depending on the product, with art prints requiring up to 3840×3840 pixels for extra-large sizes3.

Large files over 300Mb or 13500×13500 pixels are not accepted due to server load limitations, and it’s important to note that DPI and PPI do not affect the final uploaded image3.

To help with the design process, RedBubble provides product templates that can be particularly useful for designing trickier products. These templates can help ensure your design fits well on the product and looks its best37.

For more detailed information and tips, especially for designing premium T-shirts and stickers, you should refer to RedBubble’s blog posts and help articles, which provide in-depth guidance and advice for creating artwork that meets the platform’s standards and showcases your designs effectively36.

Choosing RedBubble as a platform for your artwork opens up a world of opportunities. It’s a bustling marketplace that’s tailor-made for artists who want to showcase their creativity without the hassle of managing inventory, production, or shipping. The platform does the heavy lifting, allowing artists to focus on what they do best—creating.
